Melt In The Middle Lemon Soufflé

I must admit, I have a very sweet tooth. My favourite part about dinner is pudding. Whilst any pudding is a good pudding in my eyes, lemon flavoured treats are simply my biggest downfall. Naturally, with a couple of lemons spare, putting them towards something healthy seemed like a waste, so I grabbed my trusty Mary Berry cookbook and dug out this lemon souffle recipe.

Over-hyped Products #1: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I recently purchased the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer after every beauty blogger and their dog/cat told me how great it was. Naturally, I was dying to try it out. After finally hunting it down in the fairest shade possible (just call me Casper the ghost), I was certain this was going to change my life and become an essential in my daily beauty routine. But did it live up to the hoo-ha that was created around it?

A City Break: Copenhagen

A couple of weeks ago, I returned from the most wonderful holiday in the beautiful Danish capital, Copenhagen. I had first heard of plans for this break from my best friend, and just a few hours later, we had booked flights from Gatwick to Copenhagen! Travelling in a large group of 14, all of us friends from university, we searched for apartments in the city that would be large enough to accommodate us all (and the inevitable noise from so many students).

Collection 2000 Gel Eyeliner

Having tried, loved, and then lost my Maybelline black gel eyeliner, I was desperate to try another one. My usual make-up routine consists of subtly winged liquid eyeliner, and when I'm feeling lazy, a little bit of kohl does the trick. However, I often find liquid eyeliner wings flake away, while kohl is far too easy to smudge off for my liking. I picked up this Collection 2000 Lasting Colour gel liner as part of a 3 for 2 offer in Boots recently, and it has since revolutionised my eye make-up routine.

Top Tips: Applying False Lashes

Due to my disorder, I've been wearing false eyelashes daily since I started studying for my GCSEs. Trimming them, applying them and making them stay put has simply become part of my everyday make-up routine. Although it's second nature, the process doesn't always go swimmingly. They can be tricky buggers to keep in place, or even to put on in the first place! Over the years, I may have picked up a few tricks that could help your experience of putting those fiddly lashes on. It's easier than you think! Here are my 10 top tips:

Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer

This Clinique 'Line Smoothing' concealer is a product I use every day so I thought it was about time it got its own little post. I had always stuck to cheaper concealers until my lovely mum recommended this one to me. Although I'm not quite old enough to benefit fully from the so-called 'line smoothing' effect, it's still a cracker of a concealer.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine

I first picked up the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine shampoo and conditioner in a 3 for £10 offer in Asda many moons ago. While the name's a bit long, the product itself is incredible. If your idea of perfect hair is having glossy, shiny locks full of vibrant colour, then this is the shampoo and conditioner you need to get your paws on.

L'Oreal Infallible Lipstick

Along with the Maybelline ColorSensational lipsticks I posted about, you might also remember reading about this L'Oreal Infallible lipstick in my Cosmetics Fairy haul. L'Oreal is a brand known for excelling in lip products; from glosses to lipsticks, they own the high street market. They are a brand from which you know you will get superb quality products, long-lasting wear and value for money, and it is no different for this Infallible lipstick.

Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation

Being a student, I've never really splashed out on high end beauty products, preferring to discover the pick of the high street pack. I'm a firm believer that you can get some real gems in the likes of Superdrug and Boots which do the same job, if not better, than the revered luxury brands. Wanting to put this to the test, I popped into my nearest House of Fraser and walked over the the Chanel counter.

Chocolate Chunk Brownies

Everyone loves brownies, and if you don't, you just haven't tasted a good one yet! I've been using this recipe ever since I've been baking, which is a good few years now. Sometimes, admittedly brownies can be a bit stodgy and sickly, which is why I absolutely adore this recipe from my 'Grandma's Best Recipes' cookbook. The brownies are more like mini chocolatey cake bites, packed with chunks of gooey chocolate. If you have a friend or relative who's a huge chocoholic, then these would make the most perfect gift. Or you can just eat them yourself...

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

You may have seen me tweeting my love for this product a while back, and my views have not changed much since. The women in my family love Liz Earle skincare products; my Nan has flawless skin and she puts it down regular use of her vast collection of Liz Earle lotions and potions. From cleansers to toners and tinted moisturisers, she's tried it all, yet one her all-time favourites remains the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth cleanser.

Cosmetics Fairy Haul

Cosmetics Fairy is a website I've heard a lot of, and looked at a lot, but I just somehow never made a purchase. I was mainly worried about the products being completely tacky, old, and unusable, especially as you cannot see them in person beforehand. However, I recently took the plunge and grabbed some goodies. The prices are so low; my purchases ranged from 50p to £1 for some very well-known brands!
