If I Was Rich... My High-End Beauty Wish-List

It seems to be the story of my life at the moment; dreaming about all the things I could treat myself to...if I had money. I wander around the counters of Boots and Debenhams swooning over new launches, tried classics and pretty packaging, wishing they were on my dressing table, yet leaving with nothing but yearning for some extra cash to splash out on some high-end treats with. There are a few products which I have been eyeing up for a while now, so I thought I'd compile a quick post of all those beauty goodies that I've been daydreaming about. Maybe one day....*sigh*

Dior Star 'Spectacular Brightening Weightless Perfection' Foundation

This foundation is a love induced through trying samples that I got my hands on a while ago but have only just started using. I'm not one for heavy foundation, but this Dior base is absolutely spectacular. It provides the coverage of a heavier foundation, but feels really natural and lightweight when it's on the skin. When buffed in right, the foundation blends in seamlessly to your natural skin, and the whopping 16 shades to choose from means you're bound to get a perfect colour match. The "hollow silica beads" act as a light-diffusing agent, brightening darker areas of your face and leaving you with a generally radiant finish. Not one for those who prefer matte looks, but definitely my ideal foundation. Now to find £32.50 from somewhere....

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer

I instantly fell in love with this product after trying a sample of it about a month ago. It's not your usual primer consistency, being almost like a thick paste. However, like many cleansing balms, a small blob will melt between you fingers and smooth over your whole face. It's perhaps not a case of a little goes a long way, but you get a lot more product for your buck than you think you will. This is the only primer I've found which actually keeps make-up on your face all day- I'm talking a good 12 hours wear without a single budge. While it's not a light primer, it doesn't feel as though you're wearing lots of product. A fab product which provides you with an excellent base...I just wish I had £26.50 to spare!

Urban Decay Naked Palettes

I haven't specified a palette purely because I cannot choose between them and kind of want all 4. The cult beauty favourite is something my make-up stash has been missing for too long, but as someone who doesn't wear eyeshadow regularly, it's never been something I can justify spending £38 on. Yes, £38 on some eyeshadows! But as any beauty enthusiasts would know, they're not just any old eyeshadows. The highly-pigmented powders are some of the best out there, blending perfectly to create any look from smokey to natural. The range of neutral tones, in matte and shimmer forms, are to die for, and the new smoky palette has had everyone swooning. A product that was probably a predictable feature on this list, but a deserving one.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer

I know, another foundation, but a girl's gotta have a perfect base! Another product which I've just managed to get a sample of after waiting since its launch for my colour (Cream Rose) to be available in-store. I've been umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to buy this product for a while, but due to my skin being a bit sensitive, wanted to try a sample beforehand. After using it a couple of times now, I can confirm that it is amazing. It has clung to some dry patches a tiny bit, but the overall finish it provides is second to none. Like its name suggests, it really is a foundation and concealer in one. I have had to put a tad more concealer on my dark under-eye circles, but apart from that, it provides the most amazing coverage and saves you so much time in the morning. For £25, this could be something worth investing in.

Which high-end products are you saving your pennies for? Have you tried any of these? Are they worth the dosh?

  1. I really think the original UD Naked palette is worth it. I'm actually on my 2nd one because I used the first one up more or less. It did last really well considering how much I used it though. The way I look at it, the eye shadows work out at a little over £3 each instead of the £14 they are individually-I'm pretty sure they're full size as well. I tried a couple of the cheap dupes to see if I could avoid repurchasing it but as much as they're still quite good, they're just not as good as the original, Em x

  2. I really want to try that Clarins primer, it sounds so good...

I have the Naked 2 palette, which I love. I was the same as you and would have been happy with any. I just happened to get that one for Christmas, so the devioun was made for me.

Earlier this year I also treated myself to the Naked on The Run palette. This has become my absolute favourite. It comes with th perversion mascara and a Naked lipgloss and two of the shimmery eyeshadows inside are just perfection! The really annoying thing for me is that I've misplaced mine! This is the trouble when you spend so much on some makeup, it's worrying if something happens to it.

    1. Yes! I'm so clumsy too so I'd probably end up smashing it or, like you said, losing it. The Clarins primer is simply heavenly...I desperately want it!

  3. Haha yes I know what you mean, so many things on the list. I have 2 Naked palettes and think it's definitely worth getting at least one. They are so multi functional and just last forever - they dont go funny like foundation etc! x

  4. When I saw the title, instantly thought of GWEN STEFANI'S ~RICH GURL~~~. But yeah, totes feeling this post right now since I left my job and I'm now broke AF ;)
I splurged on a Naked (original) palette as a gift for myself last Christmas (thanks Vanessa, you're so sweet), but yeah, I'm still madly lusting after the second palette.
That Clarins primer sounds dreamy! So far, all the primers I've tried have all been disappointing due to how much oil my face used to produce :(
