Hair loss can effect your confidence in every way imaginable. You often think the worst of yourself, lose all hope and become paranoid about your appearance, causing a seemingly endless cycle of stress. Whether you have lost your hair through treatments, stress, alopecia, trichotillomania or another mean, it has often been said that there is little, if anything, that you can do to help the hairs grow through faster. It has always been a case of simply waiting for the hair to grow back in its own time. However, this is not necessarily the case. There are steps that you can take to help boost hair growth and strength, and RapidLash is a step I never hesitate to recommend.
Discovering the product a few years ago, not long after its launch in 2010, this revolutionary little serum was one of the first of its kind. It's jam-packed full of vitamins and minerals to help nourish the hair and improve its appearance, amino acids (the building blocks of protein which your hair is made up of) to help strengthen the hair and prevent breakage, and polypeptides (the chemical bonds which help form a protein); its essentially a load of goodness which is going to strengthen your hair's natural structures.
Sciency bit over, this serum comes in a few different forms, including brow and mascara wands and a pump version for their RapidHair range (for use on the scalp), but I always go for the classic applicator style of the Eyelash Enhancing Serum, seen in the photo below. The handy pen-type nib means that its perfect for those with hair loss as it can glide onto bare eyelids or brow bones; there is no need for hairs to grab onto, like the mascara wands demand. Therefore, you're almost getting a 2-in-1 product, as this will help boost your lashes and your brows- handy for someone who lacks both, such as myself!
RapidLash claim that using this product once or twice a day can increase your lash-length by up to 50%. I can honestly vouch for this, and have personally experienced the boost this gives your lashes. It's a clear formula that can be left on overnight. I tend not to use it in the mornings as it provides a transparent coat which can peel off or smudge your make-up; not great if you're trying to cover up the bald patches! Because of film, make sure you cleanse well or even use a gentle exfoliant in the morning before you apply your makeup. It may seem tricky remembering to apply it every night, but it's actually so easy to incorporate into your existing skincare routine- it'll become second-nature after a while!
While this product does work wonders, you do have to be patient. After 3 or 4 weeks use, you should start to see a real difference. It doesn't technically encourage growth outright (although I swear it does...maybe it's in my mind); instead it simply ensures that when the lashes do eventually come through, they will be stronger and less prone to breaking or falling out, giving them more of a chance to grow longer and fuller. Because of this, you will have to wait until your lashes/brows do come through until you see a huge change, but when they do, I have found my lashes are back to normal within 1-2 weeks. It's honestly that quick! Below is the difference it made to my eyebrows in 5 weeks (bearing in mind that I had pulled them out a bit within this time).
Instead of waiting around 8-10 weeks for your lashes to come through, by using RapidLash you could easily get this time down to 6 weeks. Just apply the serum religiously, try not to pull the hairs out, and I promise you will see a difference. It's nice knowing that there is something you can do about getting those hairs through faster and stronger, and if there's one product I would recommend to all hair loss sufferers, without a doubt it would be this RapidLash serum. You can find this product in Boots or online, and retails at £39.99 (but is much cheaper if you shop around on t'internet).
What tricks do you use to grow your hair faster? Are you a lover of RapidLash?
I actually had this and wish I had persevered a bit more as it looks like it works amazingly, definitely will pick it up again now! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou should! I swear by the stuff xxx
DeleteOooooo you've tempted me! I was using double lash by marvala, bit cheaper but not sure if it works that well tbh. I love my rapid brow and it definitely works but do you find they run out really quickly. I'm onto my second bottle of the year! Fab post as per usual xxx
ReplyDeleteYou can easily find this for £20 online- it's by far the best one I've ever used. They do run out quite quickly but I still think they're worth the money! Thanks dear xxx
DeleteMy friend swears by this product. I was sceptical but you have convinced me. Miracle product. xx

I bloody love it xx
DeleteHi, could you post a more recent picture Sophie B and have your eyebrows returned now fully? PS Thanks for the blog :)
ReplyDeleteHi, as I said in the post, I pull them out and can't remember the last time I had a full set of brows. RapidLash doesn't stop me pulling them out, but it does help them to grow back through faster when I use it. I now have my eyebrows tattooed on (there are photos in a recent post).
DeleteThanks just gonna have a read now :)
ReplyDeleteHow long does it usually take for your eyelashes to grow back? Or at least show signs of growing back? It's been three weeks since I had an awful trich episode on my left eye and I have no signs of regrowth. I'm starting to worry :(
ReplyDeleteHi Hayley, don't panic... Mine can take around 6 weeks when not using any serums etc, so give them time and they will come back through.
DeleteCan this work on the scalp?
ReplyDeleteTechnically, the formula probably would but the wand is far too small to use on the scalp. I have a post about different methods you can use to regrow hair on the scalp which you might find useful (just search through the Trichotillomania posts).
DeleteWhat about eye brows?? School is starting soon and I lost the end of my left brow, any suggestions..and please no "fight the urge" because I already stopped plucking. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHello, as I've mentioned in the post this can also be used on eyebrows. I would suggest perhaps filling the gap in with makeup as a temporary solution- I have other posts on brow makeup on this blog. As a trich sufferer I would never suggest to just 'fight the urge'...I've had this for 20 years and don't know why you would think I would say that to fellow sufferers! If you browsed this site further you will see that it's not that kind of website and I am here to support other hair loss sufferers, not patronise them.
DeleteI have used RapidLash once before and also 'Flowfushi - The Matsuge Biyou-Eki' which is from Japan and a bit cheaper. Might have just started using at the right time of the hair cycle but this stuff made everything grow back long and thicker! I found with RapidLash, it worked but the hairs were a bit weaker. Maybe something to try. You must go to Japan one day - they have the best beauty products in massive stores!! You can google search and buy online too :-)
ReplyDeleteI have suffered from trichotillomania for 15 years now and just wondering if anyone else that has suffered from this and used rapid lash and seen a diffrence?
ReplyDeleteHi there.
DeleteI have suffered with trich for 7 years; my eyelashes were the only area I pulled but both top and bottom sets were non-existent for that time. It really knocked my confidence and I hid it from most of my friends and family. Anyway, I recently suffered an accident which meant that my right hand (the pesky trich enabler) was in a sling and immobile for a few weeks. The upside was that I could no longer pull my eyelashes out and, to my total surprise as I presumed I'd done permanent damage, they started to grow back. I used rapidlash and I've found that the hairs are darker and thicker, though given my eyelids have been naked for a few years I may just be over excited. I'm convinced the serum has helped though and would certainly recommend.
Hope this helps - you're not on your own!
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and I'm so glad it's worked for you!
DeleteDoes it work if they have been damaged to the point of non growth?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea I'm afraid :( I haven't heard anyone else comment regarding this either
