I have acquired quite a collection of eyeliners over the years as I've relentlessly splashed my cash in search for the best product to give me that faultless, bold, dark cat flick look. From felt tip liners, to gel formulas such as Benefit's They're Real, while many have become dearly loved, none have surpassed my adoration for this budget, basic eyeliner. Collection are fantastic for dupes, trying out something a bit different without burning a hole in your pocket, and just discovering some bloody good bargain products. Their Fast Stroke liquid eyeliner definitely falls into this last category; despite searching high and low for another product to rival it, I always come running back to this beautiful work of art.
Despite my love for it, as a super-budget product it isn't 100% perfect. But then, I've tried far more expensive products that still aren't fault-free. It's runny, liquid formula on the end of a odd-shaped nib does mean that practise is the key to mastering a flawlessly straight line and on-point winged liner. It is quite easy to smudge, especially as it is drying, but once it's set...trust me, it's not budging. Another thing I have found with this liquid (rather than pen) formula is that by the end of a long day, fine cracks may appear and the liner may start to crumble a little. However, I have experienced this with eyeliners that cost nearly £20, so for £3 this is certainly a winner for me!
The formula is so close to perfect; with many felt tip pen style liners, I've found the colour pay-off isn't that great. By going back to basics with this eyeliner, Collection have created something which is not only relatively easy to use, but has an incredible jet-black colour. Honestly, I have never experienced another eyeliner like it. Even with other favourites like Soap and Glory's Supercat, I often find myself going over that perfect cat-flick with Fast Stroke just to make that colour bolder. While it may not be the one for creating winged looks in 3 seconds, the thin nib and striking finish makes it great for everyday looks or liner top-ups throughout the day.
It's a fabulous eyeliner to have in your beauty repertoire, and one that I return to time after time. It's a trusty, reliable, fantastic and cheap eyeliner that I really think you will love. If you like bold, black colour with your liner, this is definitely for you!
Have you tried this eyeliner? Which products do you always return to?
I haven't tried that eyeliner before. We don't have collection in Belgium so I can only buy it only or when I'm on holiday in the UK. I do like the brand, suepr affordable and the quiality certainly isn't bad! X
ReplyDeleteThey are ao great for dupes! Can you not order stuff online? (I guess it's nice to try the stuff beforehand though) x

They do some pretty fab things for cheap! X
DeleteThis eyeliner sounds good. Not bad for £3. I tend to only buy cheap liquid eyeliners anyway. As long as the nib/bush is good, I'm happy.

You're usually paying for the brand/packaging anyway...most of the formulas are the same! Don't think I'd ever buy a high-end liquid eyeliner either!
DeleteI can't try new eyeliners because I am in love with Stila Stay All Day and I think nobody can live up to it, BUT I ALWAYS WANT TO!!! Mainly because other brands do cool colours and my Boots doesn't carry cool colours in the Stila. I don't know if I could use a non-pen liner though... I haven't tried in years.

For £3, it's always worth picking up to try out! It does take practice but it's such a fab basic liner. I've heard so much about the Stila liner...might try it to see what the fuss is about x
