Get Glowing! 3 Must-Have Highlighters That'll Leave You Looking Radiant (Without Breaking The Bank)

Highlighters can often provide those finishing touches to a make-up look. Much like a slick of red lipstick or a dusting of blusher, highlighter can make the world of difference to your face. A touch of the shimmery goodness along the tops of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, the inner corners of your eye and underneath the brow bone can help your features stand out and make your face look a bit more 3D. Using highlighter during the summer months can provide that extra sheen to add to your natural radiance, giving a little bit of glow to your complexion. I love the benefits of using highlighters so much that I never feel like my make-up is complete without one, so I've compiled my three must-have high-street highlighters to get you looking fabulous.

Collection Gorgeous Glow Bronzing Block (£4.19)

This is a great little product to get hold of for summer which won't set you back much at all. Currently reduced to £2.99 at Superdrug, this highlighter is a total steal. While it claims to be primarily a bronzer, this product highlights where your face would naturally catch the light whilst adding a few bronze undertones. This is also available as a blusher block; a highlighter with more pink tones. However, I love the subtle warmth the bronzing block provides. The array of tones found within this product is obviously displayed, and, when combined, give your skin a natural glow. This is a great product for those who prefer a more subtle sheen, but still adds a perfect amount of radiance.

No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter (£9.95)

No7 is a brand that I'm really loving at the moment. I'm usually a huge fan of their skincare, but plenty of gems can be found within their make-up range too. This highlighter stick is definitely one of them. Being far more concentrated that any other highlighter I've used, this product is better suited for those who want a bolder contour, especially along the tops of their cheekbones. It's top notch for adding definition to cheeks, and its creamy texture means it blends into your skin with ease. As the shimmer is so concentrated, I find it best to sweep the stick along the back of my hands first, then use the tip of my ring finger to pick up some product and dab along the tops of my cheekbones. If you apply the product straight onto your face, you may run the risk of looking like you've been doused in glitter. While this doesn't add the warmth that the Collection highlighter does, this product is far better for some bold, badass contouring. I couldn't live without it.

Make-Up Academy Undress Your Skin Liquid Glow (in Pink Shimmer) (£4)

Available in three different tones, this budget product is another one that is master of subtlety. The different tones act as a mild colour corrector, claiming to even out your skintone whilst providing radiance. I find that the liquid formula is far too thin to achieve this, and I haven't noticed any colour correcting properties whilst using this. However, I've found the pink tones in this particular shade blend really well if you're wearing a touch of blush on the apples of your cheeks, making the subtle glow blend in seamlessly. The light-diffusing particles within this liquid highlighter help to brighten your general complexion; I find this is a great all-rounder which can be used for subtle contour, or to brighten the eye area.

  1. These all sound gorgeous! I'm a big fan of MAC highlighters, particularly Soft & Gentle MSF and the Cream Color Base in Pearl. Benefit also have some great options - I have Watt's Up, Sun Beam, and Girl Meets Pearl and they're all amazing!
