Tanya Burr Makeup: False Lash Review

When Tanya Burr's make-up range launched last year, beauty lovers and fans jumped out of their seats to but the coveted new cosmetics line. From reading reviews, it seems to have been a hit, with many being more than surprised about the quality of the range. However, for some reason, I never bought into it. Popping into Superdrug a few weeks ago, I thought I'd check out her false lash collection and came away with a set in 'Pretty Lady'.

I didn't have majorly high hopes for the quality, assuming that it'd be the same as any old celebrity make-up line- the same-old crap churned out in shiny new packaging. Yet, I can (gladly) admit that I was totally wrong in my first thoughts. The range of false lashes in particular (I cannot vouch for the rest of the make-up line) seems to have been really well thought-out, with each set sporting a slightly different design, style, volume and length. There are 6 different designs- enough to find something for everyone.

The 'Pretty Lady' set are absolutely gorgeous, and remind me a lot of the Kiss false lash range which I love so dearly. They are the perfect length; enough to give you a good flutter but still look totally natural. Like most other falsies, I do find them a bit too long, but this is easily fixed by measuring them up and trimming off any excess before you apply the glue. The glue is fairly decent- it does the job but I still prefer to use the glue from Kiss false lashes as it truly is second to none.

If you've read any of my other false lash reviews, you'll know what I mean when I fan-girl over the fact that these lashes cross over each other at the strip base. This tight criss-cross design is perfect for trichotillomania or hair loss sufferers who have no or sparse lashes. It effectively disguises the lack of lashes underneath, rather than being able to see through the gaps between each lash, and gives the most natural effect. These particular ones are fab for passing off as your own due to the natural length too.

I would certainly consider re-purchasing these. They honestly rival my all-time favourite Kiss lashes; they are equally lightweight, flexible and easy to apply whilst looking just as natural. While they come in at a quid more (£5.49), they are definitely worth picking up and trying out, especially if they're on offer.

  1. I had similar thoughts in that I don't really buy into the Gleam products hype. But my friend who has a beauty blog tried Tanya's lashes with the full intention of hating them... and she liked them. So I tried the half-sized ones and I liked them too! It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least!

  5. YOU ARE A ~PRETTY LADY~ WITH THESE ON ;)
I generally prefer lashes with criss-crossing, as I think they look more natural (actually, THEY LOOK MORE NATURAL ON OTHER PEOPLE, AS I CAN'T SAY THAT FROM PERSONAL OPINION AS I'VE LITERALLY ONLY TRIED ONE PAID OF FALSE LASHES) When Tanya's line came out, I was kinda 'meh' about it because I'm not really a fan of her, but reviews for her lipglosses were pretty positive, and I do regret not picking one up when I was in Superdrug!
