Love In The Make-Up Aisle: How Clarins Everlasting Foundation Melted My Heart

Recently, I've been getting a bit bored of using the same couple of foundations all the time. While I will always love Bourjois Healthy Mix (who doesn't?!), I just had a real urge to shake up my base a bit and try something new. Having been given some House of Fraser vouchers for my 21st birthday a few months ago, saving them up for a special purchase, I couldn't resist indulging at the Clarins counter after previously trying little sachets of their everlasting foundation. Result: I think I've found my one true love.

This gorgeous foundation won my heart over immediately with its perfect colour match. The liquid formula blends effortlessly into the skin, and buffs in seamlessly to make it seem undetectably natural. Think your skin, but with a boost of radiance. It claims to have a matte finish (especially compared to their True Radiance foundation, which is next on my wishlist), but I actually find it the perfect balance between matte and dewy. If you are looking for a totally matte base, this is probably not for you as it provides skin with a small dose of luminosity.

Like all top-class foundations, this Clarins number is super lightweight, yet a small amount gives incredible coverage; the lightness of it means its fab for building up without looking like you've caked your face with loads of heavy slap. The glass bottle oozes elegance and sophistication, and sits regally on any dressing table. It's truly a masterpiece that you'll be desperate to show off to anyone and everyone! Another thing which sets this foundation (and Clarins as a brand) above the rest and truly projects it into the high-end beauty strata is the scent. It's light and fresh, making it even more delightful to apply in the mornings.

Clarins claim that this Everlasting foundation is, well, everlasting, providing up to 18 hours of flawless finish. While this claim is preposterously over-exaggerated, when used with a good primer underneath, this foundation sits comfortably on your skin for a decent amount of time and can easily survive a working day; if applied in the morning, it may start to need a few retouches by the evening. I am totally in love with this foundation, and am quickly falling head over heels for many Clarins products. They're definitely a brand who are creating countless high quality products that become the best in their fields. The Everlasting foundation is a bit of luxury which is a total pleasure to use; the £27.50 price tag is certainly justified. Ask for a sample from your local Clarins counter to find out what I mean. You won't look back!

  1. Ok we are soul buddies, I bought this foundation a few weeks ago! I absolutely love it, the look is definitely your skin with radiance! I'm so upset though because it's given me spots :( And it's the only thing I've changed in my routine and I never get spots so I'm really upset :( I'll have to try with primer or something as well! Pictures look fab here and I'm so glad you're enjoying it :) xxx
