5 Cruelty-Free Beauty Products That I Swear By

Welcome to the first of many new posts on my new feature on vegan / cruelty-free beauty! There will be a new post either every week or every other week, so keep 'em peeled! Today, myself and Helen (who will be helping out with the new feature) have racked our brains (mainly hers- I'm still not sure if I even have one) and have come up with our 5 favourite beauty products which are totally cruelty-free. The brands here are vegan or vegetarian, so hopefully there is something for everyone and will reassert the fact that you can have amazing beauty products without having to test on or harm our animal friends.

Beauty Without Cruelty Silver Range Moisturising Lipstick

As the name might suggest, this lipstick is super moisturising, providing more of a balm texture without compromising on the colour. Available in a whopping 22 different shades, these lipsticks only cost a mere £6.95. Helen has the shade 'Mulberry' and it's a gorgeous dark red with tons of brown and berry undertones. Beauty Without Cruelty have been in the business for over 30 years, leading the vegan beauty revolution, so these are tried, tested and trustworthy products. The best thing about this lipstick is that when it fades, it does so evenly, sparing you from those lipstick rings on the outside of your lips. Hoorah!

Superdrug CC Cream

This beautiful base is definitely one for the bargain-lovers. In fact, all of Superdrug's own range is- all their products are cruelty-free and define on each label whether they are suitable for vegans or vegetarians. This SPF15 CC (or Colour Correcting) cream provides an amazing colour match, allowing the product to blend into your own skin tone. The natural look is perfect for everyday wear, and sits between a dewy and matte finish- the perfect medium! For only £8.99, this is a fab product to try out.

LUSH 'Independent' Liquid Eyeliner

Not much needs to be said about this product, as my words could probably not do the beautiful, cute little bottle this liquid eyeliner is contained in. IT'S STUNNING! Aside from the funky packaging, this liquid eyeliner is available in almost every colour under the sun (perfect for make-up experimentation). The nib is extra-fine, allowing for super-precision particularly when it comes to doing cat flicks with your liner. The formula is easy to correct when wet (great if you never get your liner spot on first time), but when it dries, there is nothing that can make it budge. Despite this, removing it with cleanser is a doddle. At £14.50, this isn't the cheapest of products, but it is certainly worth it.

Beauty Without Cruelty Waterproof Mascara

Another BWC product (because they are queens of vegan beauty), this mascara is amazing for natural, day-time looks. The bristles on the wand are designed to catch every single lash and comb through them, minimising clumping and adding oodles of volume to your flutter. While it does build up OK, this mascara is probably best suited for everyday wear rather than dramatic evening looks.

Arbonne Base De Maquillage Primer

I loved this product since the first time I used it. The formula is quite thin, meaning a little goes a long way when applying it. This is great for those who don't wear tonnes of foundation, as no-one wants a heavy, greasy primer base underneath their slap! It's lightweight and glides over skin effortlessly to smooth it out prior to your base. I find that wearing this underneath my foundation really helps it to last all day, and it feels luxurious to use, which is always a bonus!
