I picked up shades 330 'Sugar Plum' and 380 'Sweet Bordeaux' from Maybelline's ColorSensational lipstick range, and while there's only a slight difference in colour on the packaging, they are two worlds apart when applied.
Firstly, I have to say I'm not impressed at all with the packaging. It's plain, boring, simple, a bit tacky...but seeing as I paid not a penny over £1 for it I'm not too bothered. Plus, it's what's inside that counts, right?
The formula itself glides gorgeously onto the lips. The colour is vibrant but the silky texture does not take away from the staying power of the product. Sugar Plum is a very light pink colour, but not so light that it gives you that awful 'concealer lips' look (eww). Sweet Bordeaux, on the other hand, is dazzlingly dark; a deep red colour that adds that timeless glamour to an evening outfit.
Both shades offer totally different things in terms of colour, but both feel luxurious on. They last a decent amount of time, although do need regular top-ups, and almost feel like a lip balm when on your lips. For £1, these were such a bargain, and it allowed me to try out a couple of shades I wouldn't normally reach for otherwise. These have become some of my favourite lipsticks, with Sugar Plum being my everyday colour at the moment. They retail in Superdrug and Boots at around £7.
Which shade is your favourite?
I literally can't believe how much of a bargain these were snapped up for I am very impressed girl xxx
