NEW! Fleur De Force For Eylure: The False Eyelashes I'm Pleasantly Suprised By

I'm always a bit sceptical when it comes to celebrity/vlogger/blogger beauty ranges. We have already seen a few examples of where any old product is created with disregard to its quality, but as soon as a famous name is attached to it, the product flies out of the shop window, leaving many fans and customers bitterly disappointed. First, it was celebrity perfume ranges. Now, the power of bloggers is infiltrating our beauty market (you can read my post about the saga here). When Fleur de Force launched her collection with false lash giants, Eylure, I rolled my eyes and thought 'not another vlogger range'. However, after picking up a pair to try out for myself, I have been forced to eat my words; her range is pleasantly surprising.

After perusing the collection in Boots, I picked up the 'Simply Fleur' lashes. There are four different styles to choose from; Couture Fleur (a selection of individual lashes), Simply Fleur (natural, subtle lashes), Fleur & Fabulous (darker lashes with more depth and volume) and Fleur Loves (textured lashes aimed at creating drama around the outer corner of your eyes). Not the best of names for a collection, but still a great variety to choose from- quite difficult to achieve in a four-piece collection! Whilst the three pairs of lashes are fantastic, I don't really see the point in the individual lashes; the style and concept is no different from any others available and, in my opinion, doesn't add anything to the range.

The 'Simply Fleur' lashes are simply gorgeous. Currently having no eyelashes due to trichotillomania, this style has become my saviour in day to day life. The natural style makes them subtle enough for daily wear; sometimes natural styles can be a bit too long, but these are the perfect length to mimick your own lashes. As with most false lashes, I found that they needed a bit of a trim to actually fit my eyelid length, but this is nothing new. What struck me most about this pair of falsies was how comfortable they are to wear- no poking of my eyeball half-way through the day, no heaviness, just a lightweight flutter that you forget is even there. The glue supplied with the lashes is amazing too; I haven't had to reapply the glue at all whilst wearing these, it really is one of the sturdiest formulas out there! Whilst this may not be exclusive to the Fleur range (I think all Eylure glues have had a make-over), it just adds to my love for this collection.

Despite my moaning about vlogger ranges, I think Fleur de Force and Eylure have actually created a well thought-out, great quality collection here. The styles fit perfectly with both Fleur's image and Eylure's brand, and present four wearable looks that provide something for everyone. There is no point having a gorgeously dramatic false eyelash range if no-one will actually wear them out and about, and I think Fleur and Eylure have got it spot on. I would wear every single set and not feel like an idiot with huge lashes flapping around her face. It would be interesting to actually see some more designs from these two in the future...it's a collaboration I would love to see a bit more of.

Have you tried any of these lashes? What do you think of the range- genuinely fabulous or just another churned-out vlogger collaboration?

  1. I actually just purchased a second pair of the fleur loves lashes because they're my absolute favourite! They're so easy to apply and natural looking while adding that little bit extra. I agree with you on the glue, it's so good! I haven't had any awkward lash coming off at the front situations on a night out in the cheese room with it :P

    1. I don't know what they've done to change the formula but it's amazing! Really want to try out the Fleur Loves ones, they're next on my list :)

  3. I've been interested in these but I'm always really skeptical about vlogger ranges! So far I've only seen other vloggers raving about them, so it's nice to have another opinion. I have to say I really like Tanya Burr's lashes too, so there's another vlogger who's done a genuinely good job!

    1. Yes, actually Tanya's lashes were the only part of her beauty range that I liked, but they are amazing. Very similar to Fleur's actually!

  4. These are my all time favourite eyelashes for covering up trich! they're amazing aren't they, literally wear them every day (well every day I wear makeup). I agree, I'm quite sceptical of some celeb/blogger endorsed products but have been very pleasantly surprised with these! Fab post as per usual, Gweni xxxxx
