False Lashes by Kiss

No, these are neither eyelashes made by the radio station or the band. I found these Kiss false eyelashes in Boots when having a little look around for what I could recommend in my trichotillomania eye make-up post. I had seen them online briefly and was amazed by how natural they looked. They are neither 'too little', like I find Eylure's Ultra Natural lashes to be, nor too loud for everyday wear. The perfect balance!

I bought the 'Looks So Natural' 'Shy' set, although there is a great range of different styles which you can find online here or here. The cross-over effect at the base of the lash strip makes them look so natural; perfect for those who have alopecia, trichotillomania or other forms of hair loss as it means there's no tell-tale noticeable gaps between each false eyelash.

The glue which comes with the set is almost the best glue I've tried (second only to the incredible Primark lash glue). Although the instructions always tell you to wait 20-30 seconds, I find that this is too long and the glue has lost its stickiness by this point. As I have no eyelashes, the falsies have nothing to grip onto. Therefore I need the glue at optimum stickiness (is that a thing?!) in order for them to last all day. I usually wait around 10 seconds for this before placing them on my lid.

Kiss have developed a tapered end on their lashes to make them look like real ones. Excuse me for a moment while I 'OMG WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN DONE BEFORE'. Sorry. Other brands have created natural-looking sets, but the tapered ends of these lashes really give them the edge over all other naturals out there. It may be the slightest alteration but it makes a whole lotta difference.

Length of lashes has always been a problem for me when purchasing them. Many seem too long, like abnormally long. As in, surely no-one has lashes that long in real life ever, long. I always end up trimming them down so they look semi-normal, but often ruin their shape in the process. These Kiss lashes are the perfect length; they are fairly long but only to add volume to your natural lashes. For those with no lashes, you can wear them without having to trim them down in order for them to look normal. Each lash also varies in length, adding to that super-natural feel. (Not sure what I'm doing with my face in the picture below, but at least you can see that the length isn't as over the top as my facial expression).

These lashes look great on their own, with a bit of mascara, or a slick of eyeliner to finish the look. They are versatile, easy to apply, and are the most natural false eyelashes I've found to date. Fab for everyday use or a subtle bit of volume in the evening, they add just the right amount of length to your lashes to make them look utterly seamless.

As you can tell, I couldn't recommend these enough. They are available from Boots or online for £5.49 a set, but you might be able to find them in a 3 for 2 offer in some drugstores. So if your a false lash lover, or just want to try some to see what the fuss is about, go buy a pair and see how amazingly incredibly fantastic they are for yourself.

Do you like Kiss false lashes as much as I do?!

  1. These look lovely & pretty natural. I'm not a fake lashes girl as it takes more time than it's worth (for me) to put on. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼

    1. No worries! My life has changed for the better since I found them haha! A good glue helps (the one with these is excellent), also try cutting the lash strips in half, or even thirds. It makes them less fiddly to put on :)

  5. Your review of these made me try them, and, having tried countless different things to stop me pulling out my eyelashes, , from Latisse to fake nails, vaseline, gloves, play doh to keep my hands busy, these have allowed me to get so much further with growing mine, honestly I can't explain, a few more months and I hope I can be in a position to take a photo of my beautiful full lashes to show you. I can't describe what this success means to me even at this point. Huge love for you lady x

    1. Sian I am so happy for you! Well done on such an amazing achievement and I hope that the success continues. Please do update me on your progress! False lashes are great as they prevent you pulling at your eyelashes for fear that you'll take the lashes off- hopefully this mindset continues :) x
