1. Make-Up Revolution Amazing Care Lipstick (in Love Red!) £3
This is my first Make-Up Revolution lipstick (shock horror), and I am actually really surprised by the quality. I don't quite know why this is, as other products I have tried from this brand have been ace. Perhaps the fact that these are a mere £3 factored into my assumptions. My mum lovingly bought me this after falling in love with the range herself. The lipstick is packed full of hydrating goodness, including Argan Oil, with soothes whilst providing a gorgeous shine. While the shine is fab, the actual outer core that does the nourishing part (which you can see in the photo) is essentially Vaseline; it doesn't last long, can feel a tad greasy, and certainly doesn't nurture your lips as well as a balm. Nonetheless, I am really pleasantly surprised at how the colour comes out. With all the shiny sheen, I assumed the colour would be weak and dissipate within seconds. However, it is bold, striking and has pretty good longevity. I would recommend applying quite a lot in order to get the most out of the colour. Definitely a lipstick I'll be popping in my bag throughout Spring for when I want some glossy, vibrant colour.
2. Lancome Rouge In Love (in 322M Corail In Love) £22
This Lancome best-seller is perhaps one of my favourite lipsticks at the moment. The colour is super-easy to wear; it's perfect for any occasion or outfit and goes with absolutely EVERYTHING. With its silky smooth formula, the bullet glides onto lips and makes them feel far more nourished than the Make-Up Revolution lipstick. While the texture is quite thick and balmy, it somehow doesn't feel heavy on the lips at all. It provides the perfect amount of sheen and colour, promising up to 6 hours wear (although I have yet to test that claim). This particular colour is a gorgeous, natural-looking pink with coral undertones- the perfect, understated Spring look. I think a slick of this will be fab when paired with fairly neutral, light make-up. Bonus: there are 24 shades to choose from, so one to suit every skin tone and colour preference!
3. Rimmel Apocalips (shade 401 Aurora) £6.49
Another best-seller and probably one of my all-time favourite lip products, this Rimmel Apocalips lacquer is a safe bet to see you through Springtime. The perfectly poised wand sweeps on a layer of powerful colour which sits comfortably on your lips. It is not sticky like a lip gloss, but is more moisturising and sleek than a lipstick. This colour is one of my faves, and always the one I reach for when I'm feeling indecisive; it's a classic that will definitely become a staple. It's a gorgeous light red with hints of coral that'll perk up any look, and has very impressive longevity. Out of all of these, this is the one I would recommend the most. Bravo, Rimmel! So, those were my Spring lipstick essentials! Which lipstick will you be wearing throughout this season?
Love Rimmel Apocalips and this shade is gorgeous! I haven't tried that one yet!
