Review: The Vintage Cosmetic Company False Eyelashes

Having trichotillomania, finding the perfect set of false eyelashes that give you that extra bit of confidence when leaving the house is key. Having tested many a false lash over the past five years, I've come across the bad and the downright amazing. The Vintage Cosmetic Company is a relatively new brand you might have noticed on the shelves of Boots or Superdrug, having been founded in 2011. The original product which brought about their success was their range of quirky but totally wearable false lashes, so I thought I'd give them a whirl.

Everything about the Vintage Cosmetic Company's products are so cute. The packaging is gorgeously girly, and I absolutely love that each set or style of lash comes with its own vintage-inspired name. I picked up this beautiful set called 'Nancy', although 'Connie' also looks amazing for trichotillomania sufferers.

The false lashes, like most others, come with glue included. While it isn't the best adhesive I have tried, it definitely does the job! I did find that I had to keep re-sticking the bit of the strip on the outer corner down, but this is similar to many other lashes out there.

Length-wise, these falsies are amazing and do look genuinely natural whether you have real lashes underneath or not. The way each lash varies in length, overlaps the next and crosses over at the strip aids this natural look, and hides any gaps in your own lashes underneath.

The one thing I wasn't too sure about with these is that the actual lash strip isn't very flexible. This means that it becomes more difficult to bend the false lashes to sit naturally on the lash line. While this may make putting these lashes on a tad more fiddly, it definitely makes them a bit sturdier- the lashes are less likely to get damaged, meaning they are easier to reuse.

Overall, for £6 these are great false lashes, particularly for trich sufferers. They look really natural and hide any signs of gaps underneath. Most of all, they are comfortable to wear, so perfect for everyday use.

  2. They look gorgeous on you, I love the brand as a whole but do feel like the glue is a bit poo so the eyeliner trick works super well ;) xx
