PIXI Glow Tonic: The Holy Grail Product That Deserves Its Title

I mix and match the beauty products I use fairly regularly; the nature of this blog means I'm always trying new things, particularly to find out what works for trich. However, whilst things such as brow pencils and eyeliners are easily swapped in and out in my daily routine, there are some beauty products that have become long-serving, trusty items on my bathroom shelf. One of these such products is Pixi's Glow Tonic. This bottle of orange liquid is perhaps one of the most continually hyped up beauty products- and for good reason. I know loads of people who swear by this product; it is a skincare staple for so many (and I've found dupes of it haven't come close to the real deal!).

If you (somehow) haven't heard of the product of tried it for yourself, the Glow Tonic is essentially an exfoliating toner. What has drawn people in and kept its status as a best-seller is undoubtedly the radiance it provides skin with. The 5% Glycolic Acid acts as the exfoliant to help accelerate cell renewal (revealing a brighter overall tone by lifting away the dead skin cells). Whilst it initially smells like it may be harsh on skin, the formula is alcohol-free and contains aloe vera to help sooth and calm. My skin can get quite dry and sensitive (often due to weather changes or factors such as stress) and I have never had any stinging or irritation with this product- something I was actually quite surprised about. Instead, it continues to work perfectly on my skin to help give me a little glow boost.

Although some shops recommend using it morning and night each day, I've found this to be too frequent (especially for my skin). Instead, I apply it to a cotton pad a sweep over my skin about twice a week, using it almost as a treatment to help perk my skin up and counteract dullness. It's amazing (and gross) to see just how much grime it picks up even after cleansing! It took a couple of weeks to monitor the difference it was making to my skin (it looked a bit more radiant and gradually became increasingly so), but now I would be a little bit lost without it. When any product claims immediately visible results you think 'pfft, yeah right', but this stuff reveals the glow pretty much instantly...and continues to.

Family members and friends who use this also swear by the glow it gives and continue to love this product- it's one of those where the hype definitely is warranted. I think it will continue to be one of those products I always turn to and re-purchase, just because I haven't found anything that quite compares to it! For £18.00 this stuff is also affordable- particularly for how long the bottle lasts!

Have you tried Pixi Glow Tonic? Which other cult products do you think deserve the hype they've received?

  1. I still haven't tried this but I love glycolic acid in general! I find 8% once a day works really well for my skin (but it's pretty tolerant). Pixi is definitely on my list to try at some point.
