There's something about freshly painted nails that just make you feel like you've got your life together. I have a bad habit of picking at my nails, so when they get to a good stage where I can paint them and they don't look like a stubby mess I feel as though I have accomplished something in having pretty talons! Although I literally have a box filled with different nail varnishes (and that's after a clear out!), I just can't resist picking up new shades. When I saw this nude trio in Primark, I thought they were so pretty and understated; ideal for someone who likes boring neutral colours on their nails, like me! £2.50 for three different shades...you can't really go wrong! (Yes, I do need more nude varnishes, and yes, they are slightly different from the ones I have already).
I have reviewed Primark's false nails in the past, and was super impressed by the quality of the nail varnish within their recent Insta Girl range. I had high hopes for this trio, despite the measly price I paid for them. I'm pleased to say that they didn't disappoint! The formula does seem a tad runny, but this helps it dry incredibly quickly and allows you to layer up the coats easily; it's pretty much ready for another round by the time you've finished painting on the first coat. This is one thing I like so much about these nail varnishes- I don't have the patience to sit around wafting my hands around only to inevitably smudge the colour because it hasn't totally dried yet! Despite the formula being on the thin side, I found I only needed two coats for the colour to look good (three if I needed to neaten up any nails, but that's just me being fussy). Longevity-wise, these last just as long as your bog-standard budget/high-street brands and I'd give them a good few days before they start to chip.
The colours themselves are gorgeous; I just can't get enough of nude varnishes (they help my nails look that little bit longer, which often I desperately need!). Primark have a few different 'trios' available (metallic, bronze and neon, as far as I'm aware), but this 'nude' collection features one with dusty pink tones, another lighter beige colour with very slight pink tones (the palest of the three) and a mid-grey colour. I think the first is my favourite, closely followed by the grey. The glass bottles are quite small, giving you a little glimpse of each colour (although this isn't a negative...who ever uses a whole bottle of nail varnish anyway?!). They're cute, dinky and all gorgeous shades that I love wearing. For £2.50 (or 83p per nail varnish!), they are such a bargain and the quality isn't half bad. I'd recommend having a little browse next time you're in Primarni!
