Rimmel Lipstick: Sloane's Plum

I've never been exactly adventurous with my make up. I tend to stick to the things I know, whether it be brands or colours. When it comes to lipstick, I'd normally only wear a coral red or pink on occasion. When I saw the emergence of deep, plum hues filling blogs and make-up shelves of shops, I thought I'd be brave and get one myself.

This little Rimmel wonder fits the bill. Rimmel have quite a few darker shades to offer at the moment, however I opted for 'Sloane's Plum' (330)- a deep, warm purple. Although I was a bit apprehensive about the 'vampiness' of it, it's actually a beautiful shade; not too dark but dark enough to keep with the trend.

This lippy is part of their 'Moisture Renew' collection, and keeping with the brief the formula glides on faultlessly and doesn't feel as though it's clinging to your lips as some drier products do. The colour is bold and vivid when applied, but could do with a tad more staying-power as it has the tendency to spread and fade quite quickly.

Overall, I do think it's a great product which has a gorgeous vibrant colour and nourishes your lips instead of drying them out. It's available in stores like Boots and Superdrug for £6.49.

What do you think of Rimmel Moisture Renew? Would you dare to try a darker shade?
