3 Must-Have Lip Balms To Help You Through Winter (Which All Cost Under £4!)

The colder months wreak havok with our skin; extra moisture is needed in order to prevent it from drying out. Your face might feel tighter, your hands cracked, and your lips chapped. Winter is a known curse for lipstick lovers, but these three balms might prove to be life-saving as Britain freezes over. Here are the beauty balms I swear by...

best balms for chapped lips

1. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

This peppermint-scented tin of heaven is my go-to product when my lips start feeling a bit flakey. Jam-packed with vitamins, sunflower and coconut oils, this balm will nourish your lips like no other and leave them feeling super soft. A little goes a long way with this product, and a small tin will see you through the cold months and beyond. What's more, the peppermint oil makes your lips feel all tingly without being heavy and greasy. Possibly the perfect lip product, and only costs £3.69!

2. Barry M, Cor Balmy

While I have written a full-length feature on this little beauty before (you can find it here), I feel like this needs to be featured in my top 3. For a budget product, the amount of moisture and nourishment packed into this balm is incredible, and you can feel it working its magic on your lips for a long time. The packaging is adorable and the nourishing core is filled with shea butter, vitamin E and jojoba oil in order to restore and protect your lips throughout the harsh winter months. This is all made even better by the fact that these balms are tinted. Available in 5 shades, you can have soft lips without compromising on your lip colour. They retail at a mere £3.49 each.

3. Blistex Relief Cream

Last but not least we have my all-time favourite lip care brand, Blistex. My mum swears by this lip cream, and who am I to disagree? Designed especially for cracked, chapped lips and cold sores, this tube of wonderfulness really does the job. When applied regularly, chapped lips will disappear in an instance. Camphor and lanolin help to sooth and nourish your lips, while the added peppermint oil gives that same tingly freshness which Burt's Bees are so famous for. Definitely my top choice for serious cases of chapped lips, and it will only cost you £2.59.
