Katherine Daniels Cosmetics: Skincare Has Never Been So Simple
I know I harp on a lot about my dry skin flare-ups on here, but it is one of my biggest beauty woes and I feel as though I'm forever on a quest to find 'holy grail' skincare products for it! I first came across Katherine Daniels Cosmetics at the Professional Beauty Show in London (to which I went with the incredible Gweni from gbeauty.co.uk) and, whilst they offer salon treatments, it was their range of skincare products which intrigued me. The British skincare experts have used their knowledge from these treatments to create products which have specific skincare woes in mind; their step-by-step product guides for each skin concern breaks everything down into easy, digestible chunks to really help you look after your skin well at home. Now there's no excuse not to look after your skin properly!

How Face Oils Saved My Skin
I've written quite a lot on this blog about products I've tried and tested to help with my dry skin flare-ups. My dry skin isn't really bad, but it's enough to make my skin look flaky and not let foundation sit right. For no make-up days, it is manageable, but I rarely have one of those; wearing a touch of foundation or concealer just makes me feel better about myself (and covers my blotchiness). Seeing foundation clinging to any dry patches and emphasising the flakiness- no matter how much you look after your skin prior to application- is so frustrating and disheartening. In the few years I've been having these break-outs, there's one thing which I've found really helps...face oils.

3 New & Exciting Products To Pamper Dry Skin With
Colder temperatures can wreak havoc with your skin. Suffering from any kind of dryness is never pleasant, but there are a multitude of products designed with these issues in mind. Nourishment and hydration are key, and while there are loads of brands out there that offer this, I thought I'd include some amazing products from some new, upcoming brands. Sometimes we automatically turn to the brands that are 'tried and tested', but there are so many smaller companies out there that offer absolute gems. These three products have proved to be surprisingly brilliant at helping my dry skin, so I thought I'd share them with you!

The Lightweight Overnight Miracle Treatment: The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum-In-Oil
If there's one piece of skin care advice which I have truly lived by in the past year, it is regularly using a face oil. For anyone, like myself, who has temperamental and often dry skin, these oils can be an absolute saviour in replenishing that moisture and leaving an abundance of radiance. However, face oils can be quite heavy (especially on young skin), even when used sparingly, so I only reserve them for use a few times a week as a special pick-me-up skin treatment. I love the glowing, youthful look oils leave my skin with after I use them, but I am wary of overloading my skin too much on a daily basis. This is where The Body Shop steps in with their miracle Vitamin E serum-in-oil.
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch: The Best Primer I've Ever Used
One thing I have always struggled to find is a decent primer. I've tried a few cheaper ones out (such as Max Factor's FaceFinity and Maybelline's Baby Skin), and have dabbled in innovative priming waters, but have never come across an amazing, cream-formula primer. So far, they have all remained in the 'this will do for now' category. As such, I decided to venture into more 'high end' beauty to see if I could find anything which would smooth out my skin and combat dryness by creating a sufficient barrier between my skin and foundation. After trying a sample of Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch primer, I knew I had to splash out and treat myself to the real thing. It's truly amazing.
Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter: A Great Product For Sensitive Skin
You hear it all the time, but it's so true; the most important aspect of your beauty routine is skincare. Ensuring that your make-up is sufficiently taken off and replenished with serums and moisturisers is well worth investing a little more time and money into- they say that if your skincare base is perfected then the rest of your make-up will fall into place. Having had experience with dry and sensitive skin, I turned to cleansing balms and oils rather than foams to help return my skin to its normal balance. Surfactants in foaming cleanser stripped my sensitive skin too much, while I found balms to be the perfect option to nourish my skin during the cleansing process. Although I've built up quite a collection of balms, I have recently been turning to this Body Shop Cleansing Butter which is an absolute dream to use.

Merumaya: The Skincare Trio That's Upped My Face Game
If you've read any of my previous skincare posts, you'll find that my face is very temperamental. Any slight change in stress levels or weather and my skin flares up with dryness, making me look like a flaky, scaly lizard-girl. No matter how much I moisturise, exfoliate and prime, my make-up just never sits right, and you can still see the dryness seeping through from underneath. As we're heading into colder months now, I thought I would change up my skincare routine in an attempt to get one step ahead of the dryness. This Merumaya trio have been perfect in taming my dry skin so far, and the combination of cleansing balm, serum and moisturiser have just been dreamy to use.

AproDerm: A Beauty Solution For Dry Skin Conditions?
In the past year, my skin has been fairly troublesome, causing me frustration and grief along the way. I suffer from really dry patches, meaning my make-up never sits right, my face can often look flaky, and I struggle to actually find skincare that can provide me with a real, long-term solution to the dryness. Having trialled this Aproderm moisturiser for a couple of weeks, I have actually seen an improvement in the condition of my skin. Could this be the solution we've been waiting for?
How I Banished Dry Skin With These Simple Skincare Steps
As you may know from my moaning in previous posts, I've been having some difficulties with my skin recently. For someone who usually has normal skin, to suddenly find myself with dry patches without any change to my skincare, diet or lifestyle was frustrating. It was getting to the point where whenever I applied foundation, I was get so worked up about the fact it wasn't sitting right and clinging to all the dry patches (even if they were undetectable beforehand) it would make me want to cry. I completely switched up my skincare routine to incorporate some extra nourishing products, and luckily, with a bit of patience, my skin is finally showing signs of returning back to normal. While it is still getting there, there has been such an improvement in the past couple of months through using these products, that I thought I'd share them to help anyone else suffering with dry skin, or finds their foundation refusing to sit right once applied.
