Luxury Hair Care with the Harley Street Hair Clinic
When it comes to hair care, I've never really splashed out. I tend to stick to the high street brands that are probably full of parabens and silicone, but that's all my student budget has ever really stretched to and the habit has simply stuck (does this make me a bad beauty blogger? Probably). I've never had a problem with using brands such as Aussie and Garnier, and to be perfectly honest, have never given much thought to their impact on my hair (instead, using styling products to create any volume and sleekness rather than thinking about how my shampoo and conditioner could help the process). After receiving a luxury hair care package from the Harley Street Hair Clinic, it was time to see whether spending that extra bit of dosh really could make a difference to my hair.

Beauty Must-Haves For Your Summer Holidays
So, as of today, I can say 'I AM GOING ON HOLIDAY THIS WEEK!'. Late Saturday night we'll be traipsing to the airport to catch a flight to Crete for a week of sun, beaches and all inclusive food/ drink. Honestly, what more could a girl want? When we booked the holiday in March, it seemed ages away, but (as it always does) time has seriously crept up on us and this weekend I realised I needed to start thinking about what I was going to pack (and also whether my summery clothes still fit me, cue bank holiday shopping trip!). When it comes to beauty, I am usually fully stocked up and always buy bits and bobs whenever they are on offer, so luckily I have most things I need already. I thought many of you will have summer holidays approaching, so thought I'd share some of the beauty items which are going to be must-haves in my suitcase.

The Alfa Italia Detangling Hair Brush That's Become A Staple Beauty Item
There are certain beauty tools that, although aren't necessarily the most glamourous thing to discuss, are essential to our everyday routines. Whether that be an amazing toothbrush, the blending tool you can't live without or the hair brush that leaves your hair feeling amazing, there are some things that are just worth mentioning. What's great about this Alfa Italia brush is not only is it practical and seamlessly been integrated into my beauty routine but it looks gorgeous too. My photos don't really do it, or the colour, justice (the reflective coating is so tricky to capture without my gormless face being shown staring back!), but the rose gold de-tangling brush is just such a fab alternative to the Tangle Teezer that everybody knows and loves.

Bye to Dry Hair! Reasons Why You Should Be Using A Hair Oil
If there's one thing you might think you shouldn't be slathering onto your mane, it's oils. We are often quick to associate oils with greasiness; thick formulas that'll leave you looking like you haven't washed your hair in weeks. But this is far from the case. Hair oils are often packed full of vitamins and fatty acids which can do the world of good for your barnet. Since bleaching my hair back in January as part of an ombre/balayage look, my hair has suffered the consequences. We are always told to keep you hair nourished by using regular hair masks, and this is all well and true. What we are rarely told is that using an oil can not only boost that hydration and protect damage hair, but that certain oils can also boost hair growth.
OnZen's Innovative Bath Tablets: A Hot Spring In Your Own Home?
The busier our lives seem to get, the more important it is to take time to look after ourselves. I've recently posted about a few beauty products you can pop in your bath to make it even more relaxing; these oils and scents are lovely, but it's equally important to reap the physical benefits of a bath for your skin, and not just focus on the mental element of relaxation. These innovative tablets from OnZen help do just that, and remind us to look after our skin whilst doing all the hard work for us. We're so used to running a bath and adding in our favourite bubble baths, bath bombs or essential oils (focusing on the relaxing element of a long soak). OnZen looks at the water itself, rather than what you can add to it. They have created products which alter the water you are bathing in to make it more beneficial to your skin and circulation. Genius!

Going Blonde? You Need These Pro:Voke 'Touch Of Silver' Treatments!
After having really dark hair for ages (I always thought life would be more fun as a brunette), then trying to fade and grow that colour out for over 6 months, I finally took the plunge and bleached my hair for the first time. Because I wanted to try and get back to my natural dark blonde colour, I entrusted Betty Lou salon in creating a gorgeous ombre/balayage effect on my hair, leaving the ends far lighter than the rest. While it isn't *that* light, I found that my hair took on quite a yellow-y blonde hue. Disappointed, I turned to Twitter to see what would be the best home remedy to my brassy woes. Silver shampoo was the unanimous response.

The Top 5 Affordable Dry Shampoos To Try Out
When dry shampoo first entered our worlds, we were mainly limited to different scents of the much-loved Batiste formula. There wasn't much choice and the textures were chalky. Since then, our hair care horizons have been considerably expanded, with many brands offering their own dry shampoos and old classics reformulating to be better than ever. Now stuck in the opposite situation, how do we know which dry shampoos are actually doing what the say on the can when there is such a huge selection to choose from? Reviews.com have scoured many reviews to whittle down a whopping 54 recommended dry shampoos to a concise 5, focusing on scent, chalkiness, price and whether it worked on the first application. Dry shampoos have become such a huge part of our regular beauty routines, so it's nice to have a starting point on where to look for ones you can actually trust to do the job well. So, here are the finalists...
Lush R&B Hair Moisturiser: The Product You Didn't Know You Needed This Winter
It's that time of the year where every part of the body seems to need that extra bit of moisturising. The cold weather dries out our limbs and we find ourselves slathering on overnight treatments wherever we can. We make extra effort to prep our skin, whether it be face creams, hand creams, or gorgeously rich body butters, but we often forget about our hair. For most, a conditioning treatment will work wonders, but if you wanted to achieve ultimate softness, Lush R&B hair moisturiser treatment may be the product of your dreams.

6 Non-Cosmetic Ways To Boost Hair Growth
Hair is important to us. Whether you may realise it or not, many of us are lost without it; it can be a comfort blanket, a small way in which we express our identity. Therefore, hair loss can be far more than a physical experience. With the baldness comes a plethora of feelings- emotional complexities such as shame, guilt, and distress. While many of you may know that I speak a lot about trichotillomania, it is important to note that it isn't, of course, the only form of hair loss. Hair loss can be experienced by anyone for a number of different reasons. But did you know you can take steps to actively reduce this loss or make hair grow back faster? Whether you are suffering from baldness (head, eyelashes and eyebrows, to name a few places), or simply want to boost the growth of your barnet, here are some easy steps you can take to achieve that without having to turn to cosmetic treatments.
Fat Hair '0 Calories' Range: For Thicker, Amplified Hair In A Jiffy
We always want what we don't have. Since I can remember, I've always wanted to switch my lifeless, thin, straight hair for thick, voluminous waves. Luckily, there are products on the beauty markets that can help your hair situation, whether they are frizz-tamers, straighteners, or volume-adding formulas...there is something for just about everyone. Fat Hair is a range that's been available in the UK for a couple of years now, and their volumising hair range seems to have had a makeover. Naturally, I put it to the test!
Redken Colour Extend Magnetics: Lock In Your Hair Colour For Longer
I've been dying my hair since I was in my mid-teens after always wanting to be brunette. My mousy blonde-brown hair was, to me, boring. I wanted something a little bolder, and playing around with different colours and styles became a way of finding out what suited my appearance and personality. Starting with those awful wash-in, wash-out colours, I progressed to dabbling in home dyes and salon treatments, however, always found that the colour faded incredibly fast. As a broke student, saving up to splash out £70+ on a new, coloured 'do, only to find the vibrancy of the colour gone after a couple of weeks, is hugely disappointing. In an attempt to make my colour last a little longer this time, I tried Redken's Colour Extend range, hoping I would finally get my money's worth of hair colour.
Better Than Batiste? Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Shampoo
For ages, Batiste had been the only brand of dry shampoo I have ever used. Its extensive range has achieved somewhat a cult status in the beauty world, being the first real brand to capitalise on this innovative new market. Nowadays, I honestly don't know what I would do without dry shampoo in my life. It's such a handy product to have and saves me so much time in the morning; a spritz of dry shampoo injects a bit of life into my limp bed hair, freshens it up, and can create the perfect amount of volume for a day or evening look. It has so many uses, so it's no wonder that oodles of beauty brands have ventured into this market, creating their own versions of shampoo in a can. After trying this Herbal Essences range, it has made me realised that perhaps Batiste aren't that great after all.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine
I first picked up the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine shampoo and conditioner in a 3 for £10 offer in Asda many moons ago. While the name's a bit long, the product itself is incredible. If your idea of perfect hair is having glossy, shiny locks full of vibrant colour, then this is the shampoo and conditioner you need to get your paws on.
