A couple of weeks ago (I think it was a couple of weeks...I lose track of time these days!), I was invited to Boots in Brighton for an evening of testing and trying out some new launches by Smashbox. It's a brand I haven't had much experience with in the past, having only really tried a mascara of theirs and a primer. The new Be Legendary range is full of totally on-trend liquid lipsticks, covering both plain colours and a gorgeous collection of metallics, which were all designed by their lip editor-in-chief, Vlada Haggerty (otherwise known as VladaMUA on Instagram, famous for her incredible lip art). Smashbox and Vlada are a lip match made in heaven which has produced some stunning products that are not only high quality in finish, but also available in some pretty cool shades.

You come across things in the beauty world every now and then when you think 'why had I not heard of this before?!'. A Great Budget Buy: Maybelline 'The Blushed Nudes' Eyeshadow Palette

I've never really been one for experimenting with eyeshadow. In fact, I very rarely wear it. Others rave about the latest Urban Decay palette, whilst I'd rather fan-girl over false lashes or an incredible cleansing balm. Eyeshadow has just never been my thing. I bought this Maybelline 'The Blushed Nudes' palette as part of an offer in Superdrug (I had bought one thing and would get this half price), so thought 'why not?'. I thought it'd be another neutral palette that I didn't need, but it's turned out to be one of my favourites that I am now turning to almost daily. How about that for a turn-around?!

Makeup Masterclass: Quick And Easy Smoky Eye

When flicking through beauty blogs and Instagram accounts, one thing I'm always jealous of is their ability to perfect the smoky eye look. It's a classic make-up style which will forever be fashionable, yet one I have never been able to master. Give me liquid eyeliner and tell me to create winged liner and I'm fine, but throw eyeshadow into the mix and everything goes to pan. After watching some tutorials over the weekend, I thought it was time to bring out the palettes and give the shadows another whirl. This look is inspired by fashion-blogger-wonder-woman, Sarah Ashcroft. She obviously has done her make-up far better than I have and ever could, so if you want to know the in depth 'how to' for the rest of her make-up (and not just the eyes), you can find the original video here. As I prefer a few extra minutes in bed to contouring my face (I lack the patience to use 3 different highlighters, but that's just me), I just focused on the beautiful eye make-up that Sarah had created. It seems to be the story of my life at the moment; dreaming about all the things I could treat myself to...if I had money. I wander around the counters of Boots and Debenhams swooning over new launches, tried classics and pretty packaging, wishing they were on my dressing table, yet leaving with nothing but yearning for some extra cash to splash out on some high-end treats with. REVIEW: Make-Up Revolution Flawless Palette

If you haven't heard about Make-Up Revolution, then WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! This is the latest beauty brand on the block and they're really packing a punch. Their blush lacquers and lipsticks have been tried and tested by most beauty fanatics out there, but what has really caught every make-up addicts heart is their incredible eyeshadow palettes. When the Make-Up Revolution stand finally made a grand appearance in my local Superdrug, I snapped up the product I'd had my eye on for ages...the Flawless palette.

Cosmetics Fairy Haul

Cosmetics Fairy is a website I've heard a lot of, and looked at a lot, but I just somehow never made a purchase. I was mainly worried about the products being completely tacky, old, and unusable, especially as you cannot see them in person beforehand. However, I recently took the plunge and grabbed some goodies. The prices are so low; my purchases ranged from 50p to £1 for some very well-known brands!

MUA Undress Me Too

This marvellous little palette which I found in Superdrug a while back is a wonderful mix of neutral shades. With some matte and some packed full of shimmer, these eye shadows are pretty much the perfect shades for both daytime and night wear.

FashionistA Palette

I'm not a big wearer of eyeshadows, but on my recent girly trip to Birmingham I wanted to try some out. The colour you wear on your eyes can make an outfit; whether you're colour-coordinating or clashing it can make a big difference to your look. On a rare occasion when I do decide to wear eyeshadow, it's normally neutral browns for daytime wear or whites to try and boost my tired-looking eyes, and half way through the day the eyeshadow always seems to have disintegrated on my eyelid (I've never figured out how that happens).
