Shopping Haul!

Retail therapy is the ultimate pick-me-up; the buzz when you find a bargain, trying on that pair of killer heels, and the feeling of twirling around in a pretty dress in the changing rooms. I love prowling the high street, searching high and low for bargains and trying on anything that catches my eye. There is nothing better than coming in after a hard day's shopping, rummaging through your newly purchased goodies whilst sipping a well-earned cuppa. I thought I'd share my most recent buys with you lovely bunch!

My first stop was H&M. I often go into their High Wycombe store either finding nothing or wanting everything, and this shopping trip fitted into the latter. They have some gorgeous prints at the moment, as well as simple summer dresses for well under a tenner. A new outfit that costs less than a Starbucks lunch? Well I never!

This beautiful coral number was the only thing I ended up buying as I wanted to keep to a slight budget and this was the very first shop! It has an intricate mesh detail at the top which oozes glamour. With a quick change of shoes or accessories, it's an ideal dress to go straight from day to night in. The material is light, albeit a tad clingy, and has two layers to prevent it being see-through. It also has a lovely velvety feel to it. It only cost £7.99 too, so I was very chuffed to get a bold, bright and beautiful dress that was also a huge bargain!

Next up was New Look, from which I bought the following two things. I absolutely love pleats at the moment; they give a girly, elegant and slightly retro feel whilst flattering most body shapes. So when I saw this dress, it came straight into the changing rooms with me! The fit is perfect; the top half, whilst fitted, is not too tight and it's a great contrast to the flowing, skater skirt bottom.

The navy colour makes for an interesting alternative for those who live in black, and is bought to life by the little colourful flowers which adorn it. It's a lovely summery dress without being really bold and 'in your face'- perfect for those who want a pop of colour in a piece without looking like a traffic light. You can tell that this dress is made very well, which makes the £24 price tag seem very reasonable.

This playsuit is my favourite of all the garments I bought. The detailing, colour, print and daring neckline just screams fun and summer parties. The turquoise-blue colour is just sublime- I cannot emphasise enough how much I love it! The print is so elegant and feminine, and becomes more concentrated towards the bottom of the playsuit. The fabric is very light and floaty, ready for the hot summer (*wishful thinking*).

This is currently the only playsuit I own. I can never find one that's 'just right' and am always paranoid about the shorts being too short- I definitely don't want to be flashing my bum when I'm out and about! This New Look number is the perfect length- I can only describe it as not bum-skimmingly short, but not P.E-short long. The only issue I have with this, which almost stopped me buying it, was the neckline.

I get really paranoid when wearing low necklines, and this playsuit is pretty daring in the boob-department. Whilst it's probably not the most appropriate for family gatherings, there is nothing a bit of tape or a safety pin won't fix! This playsuit is definitely worth the £24.99 price for the colour and print alone!

I was really impressed with New Look's dress collection. There were many others lined up on my arm and I had to use real will-power to resist buying half the shop. There was a gorgeous baby pink number adorned with white daisies around the bottom on the sleeves and around the neckline which I was so tempted to buy, amongst many others. I also bought some accessories which I will show in another post soon!

Thanks to my *beautiful* brother for taking some of these photos, and to my pup Finlay for constantly trying to photobomb.

What do you think of my buys? Have you got your eyes on any summer clothes?
